The Technology Student Association, an engineering based club at FHN, has been working on building gliders for the past 5 weeks. The students meet once a week, on Tuesday, to check-in and have time to research or build their glider. Split into groups of 2-4, there was an obvious divide between those who worked well together and those who didn’t, but it was a learning experience for everyone.”We like to do competitions that are fun for the students, but it gives them the opportunity to experience some real world engineering concepts” said Michael Green, PLTW teacher at North. TSA plans to compete in more competitions in the future, including the Boeing glider challenge and VEX robotics.
