Color Your World! Comes To Kisker Road Library

In a time when students are faced with high stress levels, many teens are in need of a way to relieve some of that stress in a healthy way. Many teens and adults have recently taken to adult coloring books. The activity has become so popular that many programs have been created to allow people of all ages to color together in a peaceful environment. One program, Color Your World!, has recently come to the Kisker Road Branch Library.
“I was excited when the program started meeting at our library because we are trying to have a variety of programs for people of all ages and to satisfy lots of different interests,” librarian Nancy Stringer said.
Color Your World! is a monthly program that meets at the Kisker Road Library. The program used to meet at the Middendorf-Kredell Branch Library, but it moved to Kisker in November. Coloring supplies are always provided, but attendees can also bring in some of their own if they wish.
“Coloring is a relaxing activity,” senior Shannon Lane said. “It gives a bit of a mental break to people who don’t want to draw something complex. I like coloring random patterns because they don’t need a specific color or style and they give you more freedom.”
The next Color Your World! Meeting will be held on Dec. 7 in meeting room A at the Kisker Road Branch Library from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Adults and teens are encouraged to come, stay as long as desired, color and socialize. Light refreshments will be provided for all who attend.
“I think that Color Your World! is a great opportunity for people to relax together and make some really cool art,” senior Kama Struckhoff said.
