Failure of Proposition Howell Causes Negative Impacts on the District
Published: November 30, 2016
On Nov. 8 residents living within the Francis Howell School District borders were asked to approve Proposition Howell, a 60 cent tax increase that would better the district as a whole after numerous budget cuts. In the end, the proposition failed, and the district now faces even more cuts such as transportation, middle elementary and some high school extracurriculars, job positions and more. The district has not yet released if it will attempt to pass another tax increase in the future, however our schools will be sure to take a hit.
