The Knowledge Master’s Open is an online competition that takes place every fall and every spring. Spectra teacher Jon Travis is sponsoring and hosting the event on Dec. 7. The competition starts in seventh hour and goes until 2:30 p.m, in room thirteen.

“As a group our goal is to always try to increase our percentage,” Travis said. “Our second goal would be to increase our point total overall.”

The whole competition is online and it is purchased from a company called Questions Unlimited. Since it is held online, schools from all across the country will also be attending. As for our school, juniors and seniors are the main target for students attending. The team looked for students who enjoy different types of subjects, whether it be from math or reading, the questions all vary. Anybody can come in and contribute to the students winning.

“The Knowledge Master’s Open is very fun,” senior Lydia Harns said. “I enjoy seeing the types of questions that are provided and I also like to learn new fun facts from it that I didn’t know before.”

The point system that will be used will be based on a scale of three. Every team that will be attending is provided with three different clues, and depending on how many the team uses will end up determining how many of the points given. The less clues used during the questions, the better it is for the students since they will get more points.

“I really like it [the competition] because it’s fun to go through all the questions and see what we know and don’t know,” junior Devyn Meyer said. “I feel like we can end up really learning a lot from it.”
