Prom is just around the corner, and the 2017 prom fashion show ran by the upper class is coming up. The prom fashion show will be held in the auditorium on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

“It’s $5 to get in and all the proceeds go to prom,” said Marissa Cohen, “and to students that need a little help with prom budget.”

It features dresses that stores like David’s Bridal have lent to the event. The juniors and seniors are allowed to participate in the fashion show along with help set up the show. All they had to do was attend an informational meeting, sell five tickets and ask to get donations for raffles. They come the day of the fashion show with their hair and makeup already done, and for guy models, they come with the tuxedo already on.

“I wanted to do prom fashion show because I heard people talking about it last year,” said junior Jameson Gabel. “It seemed like lots of fun.”

This is Cohen’s fifth year in charge of the show, but in years past, the school has done it. There are 30 students in the show this year. Students and staff members are encouraged to attend the show along with parents. The show lasts about an hour

“I highly encourage anyone to come and support,” Cohen said. “It’s fun to see your friends modeling and see the current dresses for prom this year.”
