Julia Haas is a foreign exchange student from Germany spending her junior year at Francis Howell North. Julia’s experience in an American school is much different than her experience in her German school. The difference in styles of learning caused her to adapt so that she can understand and be understood at school. To become an exchange student, Julia had to learn and be tested on her English skills in order to finalize the process.
“I think, in the first few weeks, I’ve been treated like a normal student,” Haas said. “A lot of people didn’t even know I’m an exchange student, except for the people around me.”
