The Gay Straight Alliance Club held an Assembly during first and second hours for teachers that signed up and students who filled out a field trip form. Members from the club read personal stories they wrote then club President Bree Williams along with club member presented a slideshow full of facts and statistics about the LGBTQ+ community. At the end of the slideshow questions of students collected by a survey sent out in April by Williams was answered by different club members. After the slideshow the audience was given the chance to ask questions.

“This is my second year being apart of it personally and I feel like it opens the door for understanding between people In the past year I was met with a lot of positive feed back. I hope I’m met with the same feed back this time do that there’s better treatment of the LGBT community,” Williams said.

“I really think it’s important for people to know how apart of the commuinty feel so that we can better understand each other. I think that people will be better informed,” sophomore representative Adrien Fiely said. (Photos by Bernadette Kornberger)
