As in every other year the homecoming game was played the night before homecoming. Before the game HOSA partnered with Paws Rescue Shelter to raise money for the dogs. With a donation of $3 or more people could play with the dogs. This year the game was between cross town rivals Francis Howell Central Spartans. The Knights were (1-4) going into this game against the (3-2)Spartans. The big story in this game is the return of Taron Woods who was injured in the first quarter of the game against Fort Zumwalt East in week 2. Both teams struggled to start with three straight three and out series. Then North opened up the scoring in the second quarter. The game was close through the first half with North leading 21-12 going into the half. From there North took over shutting the Spartans offense down in the second half. The Knights would then run away with the game winning the game 35-18. Coach Brett Beville commented after the game, “We’ve been working on being tougher… physically and mentally, and we were that.” This win improves the Knights to (2-4) and drops the Spartans to (3-3) on the year. Catch the Knight back in action next Friday as they travel to face the Toy Buchanan Trojans so show up in Troy next Friday at 7pm to catch another Knights game.
