In this particular look, she contoured her face, filled in her eyebrows, gave her eyes a green and brown smoked out look, applied false eyelashes and swiped on a matte lipstick. (Photos by Kylah Woods and Sammie Herr)

As a high schooler, Eve Abuazza can get stressed out. From the AP classes to the various clubs she’s involved in, it’s no wonder she is a little overwhelmed from time to time. One of the things that helps her cope with the stress is putting on a full face of makeup.

“My clothing is an expression of myself, but I feel like my makeup I can change everyday,” Abuazza said. “It’s always moving with me. I’ve become comfortable with it, so I’ve become comfortable enough to explore within the realm of what I already know about makeup.”

She started actually putting on makeup when she was in seventh grade and from there it has formed into a way to express herself. She uses various types of makeup, ranging from drugstore to high end brands. Abuazza’s favorite and essential piece is Oval highlighter by Becca

“Eve does some unique makeup and she’s very talented at it,” close friend Liv Singer said. “She can pull off any colors and looks.”

Currently she’s involved in art classes and drama. Attending both, she can practice her artistic skills, blend colors, get inspiration and practice on other people. Although she doesn’t want to pursue a career in cosmetology, she would consider doing freelance makeup on people in college.

“Eve is a very talented young lady,” Art Teacher Mandy Knight said. “By watching her work in my art classes it doesn’t surprise me that she is a very talented makeup artist.”
