Max Smallwood is a 5 foot 9 shooting guard for the Knights’ varsity basketball team. He has played in 20 of the 21 games for the Knights.

“I would really like to work on my driving and finishing,” Smallwood said.

Smallwood has been playing basketball since he was three years old. His parents put him on a YMCA team and he has been in love with the sport ever since.

“My favorite moment through the years was probably when I was on my AAU team a couple of years ago and I hit six threes including a buzzer beater at the end of overtime,” Smallwood said.

Smallwood has a solid 75 points on the season. He is bound to get more opportunities to score with the remainder of the season considering the loss of a few players throughout the year.

“My favorite part about basketball is the excitement of the game especially when your team is just hitting on every part of the game such as offense and defense. I also love the atmosphere,” Smallwood said.

The Knights next boys basketball game is on February 23 at Ft. Zumwalt West at 7:00 p.m.
