In 2016 FHSD introduced a new tax levy, Proposition Howell in hopes for increased funding for the district to provide new programs and technology. Unfortunately the levy did not pass and the district was left to make cuts for the 2017-18 school year which included an activity fee, limited transportation for athletics and decreased support staff within the schools. In an effort to reverse the damage the district has introduced a new levy, Proposition Learn. This 48 cent tax increase has the ability to save the school from even more devastating cuts and will be able to save some of the cut programs.
