3-16 Principals of Biomedical Science; Sheep Heart Dissection
Published: March 22, 2018
On March 16, Mrs. Hahn’s PBS (Principals of Biomedical Science) class dissected sheep hearts. Students were learning the blood flow through the heart of humans and dissected a sheep heart because their hearts are very similar to human hearts. The class was also trying to figure out what happened to the fictitious person’s heart by studying the sheep heart. Some students don’t necessarily enjoy dissections because they get nauseous from the smell and what they’re dissecting. “I poked it with a little stick but that was enough for me,” Senior Svetlanna Feddersen said.
