Senior Katie Prinkey is the number one singles player on the tennis team. Before the match started against Fort Zumwalt West on September 5th , Prinkey was not focusing on the final outcome of the game but to focus on strategy.

“The first set was a great one,” Prinkey said. “I think I played really well. However, on my second set I got in my own head after losing the first one so close. Working on my mentality is something I definitely need to work on because it really affects my play.”

The final score of the game was 5-7 0-6, with Prinkey at a loss.

“I went into the match with the idea to improve, not to win,” Prinkey said. “I didn’t put any pressure on myself to perform a certain way which is good because I didn’t get too upset when I didn’t perform how I planned to.”
