Swim Captains Lead Team

Senior Hannah Miller and sophomore Olivia Neunaber were announced captains of the girls swim team on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The captains were chosen by a team vote. The coaches also vote to help eliminate the popularity vote.
“I was excited when I was named a captain,” Neunaber said. “I think leadership roles are very important, and I have always looked up to other captains or leaders of my other team sports. I want to have the same impact on some of the younger girls as did the team before me.”
As captains, they organize events for the team and they lead during practices and meets to make sure everyone knows what they are doing. Another important role they have is communicating with the coaches to pass messages to the other swimmers on the team.
“Something I really want to implement this season is to try and get the girls to really push themselves in practices,” Miller said.
Miller and Neunaber are excited to lead this team and to push the girls and to help them reach the best of their abilities by encouraging them.
“Olivia and Hannah have displayed great work ethics, willingness to listen and learn, great positive behaviors, and a desire to put the team in first,” head girls’ swim coach Joshua Galati said. “They’re leaders in the pool and push their teammates to be better each and every day all while respectful of their teammates.” (Brief by Claire Huss)
