Senior Kamryn Bell to Compete in the State Diving Competition
Published: February 13, 2019
On February 14th, Senior Kamryn Bell will be competing at the Missouri state diving competition at the St. Peters rec plex. Last year Bell was two positions away from making it to state. This year she placed third at GAC’s with a score of 357.4 points.
“I never thought I would be a state qualifier when I first started diving,” Bell said.”I was more focused at helping my team and getting them points. And then when GAC’s came along I would just focus on doing the best that I can.”
To qualify for state in diving, she had to either get a qualifying score or get a consideration score.
“I don’t know exactly what to expect,” Bell said. “ I just want to experience it and enjoy it since it is my senior year.”
Bell will be competing in class 2 at state. There are 32 people she will be competing against.
“I am excited, but nervous,” Bell said. “I will be competing against a lot of good divers but I think it will be a really cool experience.”
