Boys Basketball to Play in Senior Night
Published: February 19, 2019
It’s almost the end of February and all the seniors are getting ready to finish high school, take a deep breath and jump into the real world. Before all of this happens, all these students who are members of a school sport team will be celebrated during their last home game at Francis Howell North through Sports Senior Nights, events in which the coaches, underclassmen and parents thank and support the students hoping they will keep following their passions with a different uniform. Unfortunately, the FHN basketball team will be losing five members. As these seniors are about to a path they’ve walked through for a long part of their lives, this will be an emotional yet exciting night for everyone.
Senior night will be something memorable for the class of 2019 because all of the members and the Coach Mr. Darrell Davis have been working hard together since all of them were in the Freshmen team. This journey has been relatively long but all of the players have grown since then.
“We have a good group of people who have been in the program for four years,” Davis said. “This is their last high school game and believe it or not I can remember when they were just freshmen. Time goes by really fast.”
Their last season has not been the best but, as always, the members kept going on smiling and having fun even though the losses they have undergone.
“The season has been very funny for me,” Manager Tommaso Rogante said. “The team didn’t win a lot of games, but still they had some win. I really enjoy to help them. I understand how hard they are working.”
Basketball senior night will be Tuesday, February 19th, against Fort Zumwalt West in the big gym starting at 5:30 p.m. Coach Davis would like to see the bleachers crowded to cheer and support the FHN basketball team for their special night.
