Last season, the FHN boys golf team had an exciting season with everyone improving from the start to the end of the season. This year, the team is returning only one senior, Adam Shine, who will bring lots of experience to the team. With nine freshmen, Shine will provide the team with leadership that it needs to be successful.

“I’m looking forward to showing the freshman that golf is a great game to play and that the game of golf is much more than just swinging a golf club. It’s about competing against others at your best capability, developing relationships on the way, and displaying integrity that eventually transfers into your day-to-day life,” senior Adam Shine said.

The team knows that there will be obstacles they will have to face, especially with the team being very young and lacking experience. However, they know that if they continue to practice throughout the season, the results will come.

“The season will be tough for me because I will be going up against seniors. I know that if I keep working hard, I will improve in matches throughout the year,” freshman Max Ising said.

The Knights will kick off their season on March 25 in the St. Charles Tournament at Bogey Hills C.C.

“We have been practicing for a month, so we are excited to use what we have learned in practice, and finally apply that in a true match experience,” Ising said
