Bella Voce mirrors Nikki Snelson, a Broadway star and choreographer. FHN Knightchoir has worked with Snelson the past two years in order to make their Broadway dinner concert an interesting and exciting event to be at.

“My family loved the performance by Knightsound last year,” junior Harley Torpea said. “They said it was amazing and that it made them exhilarated.”

Snelson’s first major role on Broadway was as Winnie Tate in Annie Get Your Gun. She was the original Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde. She was also Cassie in A Chorus Line.

“I think it is really cool that we got to work with someone who was on Broadway,” senior Jordan Watt said. “She made us work our butts off, but that is what whips us into shape and makes us so great.”

Snelson has been teaching and choreographing for 15 years professionally. Additionally, she choreographed for her high school shows and performances. She has helped produce many musicals at schools including Legally Blonde: The Musical, alongside Knightchoir’s Music Director, Jennifer Crane, at Lindenwood University.

“I enjoy working with her because she and I have really similar standards,” Crane said. “She doesn’t like to settle for anything less than the best and she pushes people to their highest potential.”

Snelson was hired by FHN Knightchoir to direct choreography for Knightsound and Bella Voce. Knightsound’s musical numbers this year will include Into The Woods and Shrek. Bella Voce will be performing from Seussical.

“It was good being able to work with someone who pushed you to your fullest potential and made sure that you’re working on something until you have it the best it can be and I think that was really nice,” sophomore Kennedy Gordon said.
