Five Things to do on Halloween

By Avery Witherbee, Photographer

Halloween has constantly been associated with trick-or-treating, movies, and scary thrills. As years pass in a person’s life, they seem to age out of trick-or-treating as something to do on Halloween and need to find new ways to celebrate this spooky holiday.

#5 – Go to a Haunted House

Halloween is a scary holiday and there is no better way to honor it than by walking through a haunted house. Haunted houses can be found all around – it just takes a quick Internet search. The thrilling highs of being scared will be able to last a person to Thanksgiving, maybe even Christmas. A person can take a group of friends and have a fun night on Halloween.

#4 – Go to Six Flags Fright Fest

Six Flags hosts their bone-chilling event every Halloween, each year seemingly better than the last. There are zombies, clowns, vampires, and other scary creatures. Decorations line the streets of the park and haunted areas lure people inside. Many performances by the monsters of Halloween captivate guests and other monsters running around scare the park-goers who are trying to get on a ride or buy their snacks. Six Flags Fright Fest is an excellent way to celebrate Halloween.

#3 – Get Together with Friends and Watch Movies

A huge part of Halloween is the many movies associated with it. The movies range from light-hearted ones for children to horrifying, scary movies for older people. Some of the most popular movies include Halloween, Hocus Pocus, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. If looking for a nice, relaxing Halloween night, putting on Halloween movies and eating candy is a great route to go.

#2 – Host a Halloween Party

A Halloween party is a great way to celebrate the holiday. There are a variety of Halloween-themed snacks, drinks, decorations, and activities to help host a party. If one does not want to go the more relaxing route of watching movies with friends, this is another amazing way to hang out with friends.

#1 – Have a Bonfire

A bonfire is a nice way to bring people together and is great especially on Halloween to add to the spooky mood of the night. Not to mention, it is an incredible source of warmth with how cold it can be on Halloween night. Friends can get together and make s’mores while telling scary stories around the fire.
