Books are useful in every aspect of our lives. They allow us to learn, understand and experience. With books, new worlds are available to us with just a turn of the page. Over winter break spend a day reading and relaxing. Find a connection with a character and delve into their story. Learn from the stories told. Here are some books you should read over break.
The Cruel Prince. A book filled to the brim with betrayal and violence, this book will keep nerves on edge. The never-ending twists and turns allow for many surprises along the way. The book follows the story of Jude, a human, living in a world of fairies who despise humans. This is the first book in the series called The Folk of the Air. The book was released on Jan 2, 2018. The series currently has three books. It is written by Holly Black.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. The well known movie adaptation of the same name came out in 2018, receiving much love. The book tells the tale of Lara Jean and her romantic endeavors when private love letters are mailed without her knowledge. It was published on April 15, 2014 and it was written by Jenny Han. It’s followed up with two more books.
The Novice. With a very unique and intriguing plot, the book follows Fletcher and his discovery that he can summon demons. The world is reminiscent of medieval ages but with much more magic. Published in May 2015, it has two books following it up. It is written by Taran Matharu.
Pride Prejudice and Zombies. This book has a fun twist on a classic novel. It follows the well known love story between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy but now with zombies added in. The book was written by Sethh Grahame-Smith. It was released on April 1, 2009.
Scythe. This unique story shows a world where humanity has conquered all natural weaknesses, even death. The only ones that can kill are called scythes. Citra and Rowan are chosen to be scythes. The book was written by Neal Shusterman. It was released in Nov. 22 2016. It is currently followed up with 2 more books.
