Valentine’s Day tends to leave many couples without definitive plans. Although available places are abundant, factors such as price and proximity can make planning a hassle. Here’s a list of places to go for your very special date that can fit even the pickiest of eaters or the outdoorsmen and women in your life.
AMC Streets of St. Charles 8 is a great idea for couples who don’t want to work too hard for their date. A movie date is classic and for a reason, they’re a great time for couples to relax and enjoy a movie together. AMC theaters are well known for their premium seating and great picture quality. AMC also offers a reduced price for tickets when you provide a student ID, but purchase tickets soon as Valentine’s Day is a very busy day for theaters everywhere and reserved seating is limited.
“Valentine’s Day is always a very, very busy day at the theater, regardless of what day of the week it falls on and this year should be no exception,” says Scott Jackson, AMC Streets of St. Charles manager.
Main Street Saint Charles is a place nearly all residents around the area have visited, yet it’s a trip that never gets old. Main Street features several great cafes, restaurants, shops and more. The streets are historic and interesting landmarks lie everywhere. For coffee lovers, Picasso Coffee House is a Main Street staple that provides great coffee and cafe food. Another great, cheap, restaurant is Lloyd and Harry’s. Which features American style food for a very affordable price. These two locations are very close on the street so grab a coffee and venture to one of the various restaurants on the strip. A walk with your significant other on this path is priceless in more than one way, a memorable afternoon that won’t leave your pockets empty.
Wapelhorst Park is a dream picnicking spot even though the Missouri weather might be a little chilly. The park features several long, beautiful, winding paths that make a great walk as well as two ponds, many pavilions and some gazebos. Space is abundant so you don’t have to worry about feeling crowded or bothered by others. A perfect spot for couples seeking an outdoor date experience.
Olive Garden is an affordable sit-down Italian restaurant that’s perfect for a semi-casual date. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be formal but sometimes getting a little dressed up and having a nice dinner is just the right atmosphere for this very special day with your significant other. Pasta, soup, salads and most importantly, free unlimited breadsticks. Great combinations for anyone fill the menu with choices that appease many different diets and tastes.
White Castle is not exactly the first place people associate with Valentine’s Day but they have been providing a unique Valentine’s Day experience for a third year now. White Castle provides red clothed tables, dimmed lights, candle light and a true sit-down experience not native to the establishment. Reservations are required and seating is limited but the event will take place over three days and can be reserved via OpenTable. Sliders and fries aren’t everybody’s definition of ‘romantic’ but surely a good time for the lighthearted.
