“We gather here today to join Hannah Freitas and Leo Campanella…” These were only a few lines from the amazing opportunity senior Blaize Peebles was given. On Nov 16, family and friends gather to watch the wedding of Hannah and Leo Campanella. This was a special day not only for the bride and groom, but also for Peebles. He was offered the opportunity to officiate the wedding of one of his friends who graduated from FHN.

“I was pretty excited when they asked but at the same time [I was] very nervous because it was my first time officiating,” Peebles said.

Hannah was a friend that Peebles had met at FHN around his freshman year and is now attending Truman State University. Along with being friends with Hannah, he also is best friends with her brother, Grant Freitas, now a graduate from FHN and attending Truman State University.

“We thought it would be pretty iconic to have Blaize Peebles officiate our wedding,” Hannah Campanella said.

Peebles joked about how he is officiated and could do it for his friends if they needed someone to perform the ceremony. Hannah joked about it too but it soon became a serious and definite plan. The wedding was held in Branson, MO. It was small and intimate with only close friends and family.

Peebles favorite part was having the opportunity to add his own touch to the ceremony, like his jokes. He also loved having the chance to bind two of his good friends together forever.

“So ta da, before I knew it, we were standing in front of Blaize, exchanging our vows,” Hannah said.
