Junior Connor Buschmann Shares His Passion for Art

It all started with a name tag in eighth grade, and ever since then, junior Connor Buschmann has had a passion for art. He wanted to make his name tag look cool with bubble letters that had a faded rainbow, so he tried something he had never done before.
“From there it just went on, I drew that one name tag and just kept going,” said Buschmann.
He gets inspiration from his dad because he is a tattoo artist, and his environment. While growing up, Buschmann was always downtown because that’s where his dad’s friends lived and where his dad’s tattoo shop was, so he saw all the street art and graffiti.
“I got the idea, I want my art to be known, to be seen by everyone,” Buschmann said.
Buschmann’s preferred method of art is drawing with pencils or markers, but would love to have more experience under his belt with spray paint. He likes the idea and look of graffiti and spray paint, and he is excited to grow in that field. He knows of old skate parks that allow people to spray paint there.
“I’d love to go to a skate park where I can skateboard and when I’m done I can spray paint,” Buschmann said.
Buschman wants to continue with art throughout his life, whether through an apprenticeship with his dad and working his way up, selling his art or just painting walls for people or companies. Whether starting in art or continuing with art, Buschmann encourages people to get their style down, see what works for them and never give up.
“[You only live once], and you only have this time,” Buschmann said. “Don’t miss out.”
