Super Bowl LV: Students and Faculty Share Their Thoughts on the Big Game
Published: February 5, 2021
The Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off this Sunday for the fifty-fifth Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year against the San Francisco 49ers, but this year they will take on Tom Brady in his tenth Super Bowl performance.
The popularity of American football makes the Super Bowl one of the most-watched games on television annually, and the in-state Chiefs make this game even more important for the FHN community. Many students and faculty will be tuning in to see the outcome, and they’re sharing their thoughts on this influential game.
“[I’m rooting for] the Chiefs because they’re a good team and we won last year so two [wins] would be great.”
– Addison Polsgrove, 9
“I don’t like Tom Brady, so I’ll root for the Chiefs.”
– Anthony Biondo, 9
“Me and my family are just watching it together at home. [I’m rooting for] the Chiefs because I don’t like the Buccaneers and I think the Chiefs deserve it more and are better than the Bucs.”
– Bailey Scarbrough, 10
“I’m excited to just watch the game and spend time with my family. We’re rooting for the Chiefs. I got into it because my brother started playing football, so I kind of did it to connect with him.”
– Justin Caringal, 12
“If I’m really bored, I might watch the commercials.”
– Sam Smith, 12
“I’ve always been against Brady, but Mahomes has been on fire lately, and I guess since the Chiefs are here in Missouri, I’m rooting for them.”
