DECA Will be Selling Cookies and Cards that are Valentine’s Day Themed in February
For the whole month of February, DECA will be selling cookies and cards that are Valentine’s Day themed for $2. They are able to be delivered to whoever in the school the buyer wants.
“I think Valentine’s Day, when we used to do the heart grams, it was kinda scary if you wanted to buy one for someone, because it was once a year, like a big deal,” senior and Vice President of DECA Sarah Korte said. “But I feel like since people already buy the DECA cookies all the time, I think more people are going to be prone to wanting to buy them and maybe just feel more comfortable. We want everybody to feel happy when they get one, loved when they get one. We don’t want it to just be for couples. We want it to be like if you want to get your best friend one to make them feel special.”
The cookies are baked in first and second hours and are to be distributed every third hour, when DECA adviser Mike Freedline teaches marketing class. Proceeds from the cookies go into funding for DECA competitions.
“It’s just more school spirit anytime you just do stuff that makes people feel special or just doing other stuff and celebrating just being at school,” Freedline said. “Just makes it more fun for anything that creates school spirit.”
