The Parking Lot at FHN Contains Many Different Cars

Everybody knows of the new parking lot at North, but most people don’t pay attention to the cars that are in the lot. Driving through the lot, there are plenty of cars that stick out; all for different reasons. Seniors Cooper Tatlow and Riley Puhr both have American muscle icons. Tatlow has a 2016 Ford Mustang GT that stands out because of its beautiful red coat and its “loud” nature. Puhr has a 2000 Pontiac Firebird, Firebirds stopped being made in 2002, making it the last of its kind and a staple to the Pontiac name. Junior Shannon Renkey and senior Mason Baue have JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) masterpieces. Renkey has a 2014 Subaru WRX hatchback. With its all blacked out paint job, tint and wheels plus a big hood scoop on the front, it has a mean look to it. Baue has a 2008 Nissan 350Z. It often goes under appreciated because of its soft top but that’s what makes it unique. Senior Azeem Ehtisham drives a 1983 Buick LeSabre, a 40 year old restored classic in North’s very own parking lot.

“Sick” Puhr drives a 2000 Pontiac Firebird.

Her favorite parts about the car are either how the front looks or how it sounds. Puhr hasn’t done any work on her car yet but she is planning on putting in a cool air intake soon. If she could do anything, she would turbo or supercharge it. Her favorite place to drive her firebird is the back roads at the lake.

“I’ve always liked Firebirds and I wanted an older car to work on so it just kinda fell into my hands at the perfect time,” Puhr said.

“Classic” Ehtisham says about his 1983 Buick LeSabre.

It was his dads car while he was in college. He restored the engine and then gave it to Ehtisham. He doesn’t plan on getting rid of his car but he would like to fix all of the rust on the body and repaint it. He says his favorite part about his car is the seats are very comfortable, almost like a couch.

“Diverse” Renkey calls her 2014 Subaru WRX Hatchback named Blast.

Her father gave her the car and her favorite part about the car is how fast it can go. Her favorite place to drive Blast is on the country roads in Wentzville. There isn’t anything she would change about her car as she is content with how it is. Renkey has come to terms with the fact that Blast won’t last forever.

“It’s pretty old, so it might die soon. I’m just hoping it stays alive,” Renkey said.

“Loud” Tatlow describes his 2016 Ford Mustang he named Noisy Boy.

His car holds a lot of sentimental value as he plans to keep it forever. He’s put a lot of work into the car from a whole new JB sound system to his Drake Scott spoiler and even his Flowmaster Scavenger Series X-Pipe and muffler. Up next for his car are some new wheels, but if he could do anything he’d supercharge or turbo it.

“Unique” Baue talks about his 2008 Nissan 350Z.

His goal for the car is to turn it into something different. He flew all the way to California and drove the car 33 hours home. His favorite part about his car is the wheels and tires he put on them. Even though he loves the car, he does plan on getting rid of it to build something a little bit faster. His favorite place to drive is Highway F.

“Its got a really good view and the road is pretty curvy and [it’s] just an enjoyable drive,” Baue said.
