Transitioning to a Four-Day School Week is not a Good Idea [Opinion]
A four day school week. If people think about it, it sounds like a great idea. Another day to work on any homework and more time with friends and family or to just relax and take a day to wind down.
If we keep our current schedule and take away one day, it would add about two hours to a school day or make the school year longer. This could mean more stress for students because they’re in school for a longer period of time.
Some kids aren’t old enough to stay home by themselves and parents and guardians tend to work during the school day so guardians would need to find supervision. That means that they might need to take up more shifts or even get a second job to pay for that which takes away the appeal of being able to spend time with friends and family.
