Painting II Works on Parody Unit [Photo Gallery]

On Wednesday April 19, Mrs. Skwira‘s class works on their painting projects in Room 165 during 7th period. Their unit for these projects focuses on parodying various iconic pieces of artwork and recreate it as something new, keeping the key elements. Picture above are Junior Maggie Covington painting a portrait of an eye looking at the painting A Starry Night By Van Gogh, Senior Jenna Boruk with a parody on another piece, The Scream by Edvard Munch replacing the character with a creature, and Junior Alyssa Otten replacing the farmers in American Gothic by Grant Wood with Minions from Despicable Me. “This helps show creativity, incorporate your own style or learn a whole new style.” said Mrs. Skwira.
