Varsity Baseball Takes a Loss to FZE [Photo Gallery]

On May 9, the Varsity baseball team went against Fort Zumwalt East in a home game. The game started off quickly with a run from the East Lions, but the game hit the brakes after that and the game slowed down a lot. By the bottom of the third inning, the score was 4-0, North scoreless. Finally, in the fourth inning junior Luke Hewlett got a single which hit a runner on third in, making it 5-1, Lions still with the lead. There were multiple pitcher changes from North throughout the game, and by the fifth inning the Knights were on their fourth pitcher. The scoreboard read 11-1 in the top of the fifth inning, with the majority of East’s runs from walks batted in. The teams played all seven innings, and the game ended 15-2, with an East win.
