How to Study for Finals
Finals can be a stressful time for a student. The excited feeling of a break from school is often overshadowed by a test that is worth 10 percent of your grade. With finals approaching soon, it is important to know the best ways to be prepared so you aren’t stressing last minute. Here are some ways to better prepare yourself for finals and ensure that you do the best possible.
Sleep
Finals are already stressful. Adding a lack of sleep will make your experience and grade much worse. Especially without entertainment like your phone, you will probably be regretting your decision to stay up late the night before.
Breakfast
Eating while other students are testing might be distracting. It’s better to eat a good breakfast before getting to school. Additionally, you will be able to focus on your test better if you’re not worried about an empty stomach.
Studying before the test
If you know the content of the test before you enter the classroom, you will probably do better. It’s best to study any materials that your teacher has given you and review any units that you don’t understand as well.
Know what the test will look like
Most teachers will share the basic idea of what the test will have on it. Assuming what will be on it could cause you to study the wrong items.
