Senior Liza Burgos has made a commitment to golf and she has been playing for a decade now. She is currently the number one on the girls golf team and she’s off to a hot start.
“I set a personal best, which was one over par two matches in a row,” Burgos said.
Her success starts outside of high school. Burgos plays in the junior PGA league, where she faces a lot of tough competition.
“[Junior PGA] preps me for the competition that I will face in the school season by playing some of the girls I will face in the high school season,” Burgos said.
Every player wants to achieve great feats, so they set goals. Burgos’ goals deal with herself and her tight-knit team.
“I want to make it to state, I enjoy playing with the varsity number two [Alyssa Perkins] and hope to make it with her,” Burgos said.
