On Nov. 9, FHN, FHC, and FHH gathered for “The One Howell Culinary Showcase”, previously known as the “Iron Chef” event. Karin Mann started off the event by giving a speech to all our student chefs. They then moved to the kitchen to start preparing their meals. Their time started at 3:25pm and they had two hours to cook the meals they created with limited ingredients. FHN’s student chefs made Roasted chicken, with an Autumnal Medley, along with a Long Grain Rice “Risotto”, finishing off the meal with a butternut squash cupcake with maple cream cheese frosting. Every student who participated in this event received a gift bag full of goodies from Sodexo. Also, did you know that FHSD has a food truck, and that the FHN kitchen staff mainly runs it? The food truck was in attendance at the event and handed out complimentary hot chocolate and cookies.
