Since sixth grade, senior Martha Sacay has loved both drawing and dinosaurs, and is combining her interests in order to create her AP art portfolio. She uses an extremely detail oriented approach using graphite and mechanical pencils in order to create her pieces.
“Right now I’m working on a piece that portrays a bird that is 20 feet taller than a person,” Sacay said. “So far, I really like AP art, it’s a fun class but it can be kind of stressful sometimes.”
Her love of art stemmed from sixth grade when she got bored and decided to start drawing, she ended up falling in love with art and continuing through high school.
“Martha is amazingly detail oriented, her pieces are always extremely detailed and thought through, she focuses on every feather, and scale in her pieces and it’s just really impressive,” AP Art Teacher Courtney Flamm said.
