On Jan 18, FHN students walked out to protest against the Francis Howell board of Education’s decision to remove the Black Literature and Black History electives. Lauren Chance, Kyndall Bovinett, Ryann Brown and Harper Schneider gave speeches to encourage support and for more people to enroll in black-focused classes. “The walkout is important to show the board that a lot of students are upset about the decision they are making,” senior Lauren Chance said. “We as students want to be taken into consideration when the board is making decisions that effect us and our education.”
