Looking into the 2024 soccer season, the girls varsity team is looking to make a lasting impression. They started off strong with a 5-0 win over St. Charles on March 15 and recently took a 2-5 loss to Francis Howell Central on April 2. The team has high expectations for the season and is looking to improve from their past record of 4-14-1 in 2023.
“I really hope we turn things around this season and I’m excited to get to play with my friends again,” sophomore center back Ellie McCoy said. “We are trying to improve as we move closer to districts.”
The Lady Knights soccer face Francis Howell Central again on April 18 and they are hoping to split the two games after the 4-0 loss on April 2.
“There were a lot of positives that we can take away from our loss against Central and that gives us direction against our next game against them,” junior wing back Mady Brewer said. “So we know what we need to work on before we play them again and we will be ready to face them and take the win.”
The girls soccer team recently took a loss over Francis Howell on Apr. 4 and are looking to turn things around later in the season when they face the Vikings a second time.
“I’m excited for the next game against Howell because last game we had a very good first half which showed signs of improvement and signs that we can be a good team with good technique,” sophomore forward Morgan Smith said. “Howell is a really good team with really good players but I think with how the last game went then we have a good chance of finishing our chances and getting a win.”
