On Sept. 7th, the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) organization revealed their first robotics challenge for this year in the FHN auditorium. Different teams were able to sit and watch the reveal to understand the goals and challenges this competition will bring. After the reveal the teams were able to go onto the stage and interact with the first challenge, letting members of each team brainstorm ideas for their robots and take note of what they will have to overcome. Coaches for each team were able to meet together and further discuss any plans or questions with the managers of the event. Hannah Martin, one of the three league managers, said “I think this is a pretty interesting challenge…I don’t think it’s going to be as much of a challenge this year, but I am curious about the climbing aspect.”
