The Knights’ football season may not have ended with the record they had aimed for, but it featured notable moments and valuable tools for the team’s future. Early on, they, very closely, conceded a win against St. Charles, falling short by only four points.
“They need to improve their tackling,” Hezkiel Dubale said. “Otherwise, they’ll keep conceding touchdowns from missed blocks.”
Looking ahead, the team plans to bring up morale and keep players motivated by emphasizing the smaller victories. Varsity player Ryan Von Arb highlighted the impact of simple gestures in building team spirit.
“I think just a simple high five or fist bump can go a long way,” Von Arb said. “As long as we keep pushing on, we can do great things next season, and take home a few more wins.”
With the graduation of this year’s senior players approaching, the team is preparing for big changes. The coaches are focused on continuity and consistency to keep the team competitive.
“We might see a drop off in consistency if we don’t work to get better now,” Von Arb said. “Our seniors were a lot of our best players, so we have to work to prevent their graduation from hurting the team.”
By prioritizing team cohesion and building on lessons learned this season, the Knights are hopeful for a stronger comeback next year.
