Transferring as a senior from Pattonville High School to FHN, Caleb Muchnick has had an easy time finding his place on the team at North. Being a former student in Francis Howell School District has made it a simple move for him.
“I was pretty excited since I was originally gonna go to North before I moved in eighth grade,” Muchnick said. “I went to Becky David and Barnwell so it was a pretty easy transfer,”
Though Muchnick had an easy time fitting in with the team, he knew that he wouldn’t automatically have a spot and knew he would have to earn it.
“I knew I had to work harder than most people so I could get playing time and find my role on the team,” Muchnick said. “I also knew I wouldn’t have much time to do so since I am a senior, so I had to make every practice count.”
Muchnick put in the time and effort and secured his position as a tight end and outside linebacker, similar to the positions he played at his old school.
“I played receiver and outside linebacker for Pattonville and now play tight end and outside linebacker at North,” Muchnick said.
Along with finding his place on the team Muchnick had some good experiences with them and made memories.
“I would say the homecoming game is my favorite memory with the team so far, I loved the atmosphere and the energy,” Muchnick said. “Despite losing I still had fun.”
Not only did Muchnick enjoy being on the team but they enjoyed having him as a new addition.
“The best thing about Caleb is his character and who he is as a person,” Varsity coach Brett Beville said. “He’s brought a lot of good energy to the team and you can never have enough of that.”
