On Jan 30 in the St Peters rec plex, the Girls Swim and Dive team had their meet against St Charles West, and although they lost with a final score of 82 to 98, they also celebrated with lots of joy their senior night. In the 200 medley relay, seniors Teagan Lee and Madeline Dustin along with freshman Tia Soar and Charlotte Wheeler won first place. Junior Riley Jensen also won first place in the 50 freestyle event and in the 100 backstroke events. Teammate junior Jasmyne Moody won first place for the Knights in the 100 freestyle. The team also won first place in the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. Lee was also able to improve her personal time on her 500 freestyle by 10 seconds. “I’m obviously happy with beating time, especially in a hard event, but I’m also very shocked since I beat it by 10 whole seconds which in timed sports I guess is pretty good. I went from an 8:13 for 500 freestyle to an 8:03,” stated Lee. (Photos by Monica Zacarias)
