A competitive and intense year of FHN Baseball is just around the corner. FHN baseball is looking for new beginnings as a team and a winning 2024-25 season. Many returning seniors will be back this season to ensure a strong season. Head coach Michael Freedline is excited to have many seniors returning this season.
“We have a lot of returning seniors, so that’s always good when you have a good senior group coming back, and we will have some good pitching, so I am excited for that,” Freedline said.
The team has been focusing in the offseason to be prepared for the season, with optional 6 A.M weightlifting sessions before school. They also had practices throughout January on top of their past club seasons. Senior Logan Moll, who will be a key player this season and has a lot of experience, believes the off-season preparation will benefit the team during the season.
“We’ve been doing lifts three days a week in the morning, and then we’re about to start getting into hitting and throwing, so I think that will definitely get us ready for the season,” Moll said.
With there being many returning seniors the team is looking for them to step up and take on a leadership role this season. They will be key to keeping the team in order and leading the younger players who haven’t been on the team as long. Coach Freedline is confident that they will take on that role and help the team to have a successful season.
“All the seniors will be important–Braeden Witherbee, Carter Stover, Will Gorski, Logan Moll. Those guys will all be leaders,” Freedline said.
The players are excited for their upcoming senior night and getting back on the field this spring.
“I’m excited for senior night, and I’m really excited to just get back playing,” Moll said.
