On Monday, April 14 the Francis Howell North JV Baseball Team took on the Pattonville Pirates on their home field. Entering the game the Knights had a current record of four wins and two losses while the Pirates had a record of seven wins and two losses. Starting off the game in the top of the first inning, the first run is scored by Logan Vollmer favoring the Knights. Going into the bottom of the first inning the Knights gained two more runs giving themselves an early lead of 3-0. To finish off the first inning the Pirates scored two runs with the score being 3-2 entering the second inning. In the top of the second inning Kyle Puzinak singles on a bunt. The next at bat Kaden Prost gets a walk sending Puzinak to second and Vollmer to third. The following play, Seamus McRaven hits a line drive to center field sending two runners home to add two runs to their score. Now in the top of the third inning the score is 5-2 with the Knights still able to maintain their lead over the Pirates. Roderick Eldred doubles on a fly ball, sending Nic Corum home to add to their score. In the bottom of the third inning the Pirates were unable to score. Heading into the fourth inning the score lies at 6-2 Knights. Throughout the top of the fourth inning eight runs were scored by Vollmer, Logan LeBeau, McRaven, Wesley Muller, Noah Kwarta, Trace Hunter, Corum and Tommy Hummel. In the bottom of the fourth inning the Pirates were still unable to score. As the top of the fifth inning begins the score is 14-2 Knights. Five runs were added onto the score in the top of the fifth inning. The game ended after the bottom of the fifth inning and the Knights held onto their lead with a final score of 19-2 resulting in a mercy rule.
