On Apr. 14, both the Varsity and JV Boys Tennis teams played against Fort Zumwalt West Jaguars in a home game. The boys played based on their ranking against the boys of the other team. For the Varsity Silver team, Sophomore Rahul Sentil and senior Christian Portel played in a singles game while teammates sophomore Brady Forbes and sophomore Henry Bischoff played together in a doubles game along with junior Ian Brinkman and senior Gavin Davison. Both singles games were lost along with one of the doubles games, but Forbes and Bischoff were able to win their doubles match and win a point for the Knights. Portell explained that he feels he could’ve worked better on a couple of things, and he has a couple of things he wants to work on for his next match. “I did okay, but he[the rival] had very nice forehand and he was hitting to the baseline better to get it, so it was frustrating and it kind of took me about halfway through to really get my energy up, so I started from behind and that’s always tough to come back from,” Portell said. “Next match, I want to use my back hand more.” (Pictures by Monica Zacarias)
