Friendly Faces Around the Building to Know for the School Year

Counselors

Counselors at FHN passionately work towards helping students be the best version of themselves that they can be. They spend their days helping students keep up grades, making schedules, being an aid for certain students’ testing, and talk to many kids about mental well-being. They are also a great support for parents and other staff members who have any questions or concerns.

Monica Perry, Freshmen Class Principal

Principals

FHN’s principals help students and resolve their issues. Freshmen have Monica Perry, sophomores have Shelly Parks, juniors have Bret Bevill and seniors have Erin Steep.

“If we catch you vaping you will be suspended,” Perry said. “We are serious about that here [at FHN]. Leave all the hitting, pushing, and shoving horseplay at the middle school doors. Thank you.”

Heather Marren, Nurse

Nurses

The nurses are prepared for all health needs, from minor headaches to medical emergencies. Amy Kelly and Heather Marren are the nurses at FHN who pride themselves in getting to know the students and building relationships with them outside of just their medical needs.

“It’s just awesome to get to meet you guys and just learn about your lives in general,” Marren said.

Dusty Weiskopf, Activities Director

Activities Office

Activity directors at FHN are the backbone of everything sports teams. They take charge in scheduling games, opponents, game dates, bus drivers and more. They watch out for bad weather and reschedule games as needed. Most of all, they enjoy seeing students have fun at different events and be passionate about their sport.

Gabrielle Weston, Librarian

Librarians

The three librarians at FHN are Tara Willen, Gabrielle Weston and Debra McDonald. Along with helping students to check out calculators and chromebooks, the librarians teach lessons and host tutoring after school. The library is also open in the mornings before school for students who want a quieter place to socialize.

Other Faces

Lunch workers, janitorial staff, hall monitors, resource officers, bus drivers and administrative assistants are all other important faces supporting the school that may not get as much recognition. From cleaning up the school to getting you there and back, be sure to take a moment to thank them for all that they do.
