On Monday, Sept. 22, Francis Howell North’s Varsity Softball Team took on the Fort Zumwalt East Lions on the Lions home field. The first inning began after the starting lineups were announced for both teams and the singing of the national anthem. At the end of the first inning the score was favoring the Knights 4-0. Going into the fourth inning the Lions had still remained scoreless and adding on the Knights score, junior Lexi Lohnes hit a solo home run making the score 5-0 with the Knights still holding the lead. To close out the fourth inning, the Lions gained 5 runs to tie the game 5-5. Wrapping up the game, the final score was 6-5 with the Lions taking the win over the Knights.
