Joe Brocksmith Leads Environmental Science in Stream Study [Photo Gallery]

Joe Brocksmith’s Environmental Science class visited Spencer Creek Park on Sept. 27 to study stream health and gather data on water quality. During the activity, one student held a net in the water while a partner stirred the creek bed with their feet to dislodge aquatic organisms, a technique Brocksmith dubbed “The Benthic Boogie.” Other students conducted visual surveys of the creek’s surrounding environment and riparian zone to complete the overall assessment.
