DECA hosted an ice cream social Nov. 25 before the start of the girls varsity basketball game. The group served free ice cream with Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and various toppings to anyone in attendance. DECA members and club sponsor Michael Freedline volunteered at the table as part of an effort to promote the organization and mark the start of the basketball season, during which the club runs several giveaways. Fans can win free Otis Spunkmeyer cookies for the rest of the school year by competing in a halftime challenge that requires making a layup, a free throw and a half-court shot consecutively.
