With the new year just around the corner, new excitements come along with it. Every year there’s always new movies, songs, and games to look forward too, but this year is different.
“There’s a lot of cool things that are prequels or sequels to other things that I’ve seen,’’ freshman Lindsey Maurer said.
Some movies and shows to look forward to in 2026 are, ‘’Scream 7’’, ‘’XOXO Kitty’’, and ‘’The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping”.
‘’Scream 7’’ will focus on the character Sidney Prescott as she protects her daughter from Ghost Face after the events in “Scream 6”.
“I’m looking forward to ‘Scream’ mainly because I’ve been watching the movies since I was ten,’’ senior Katy Schmitt said. “They left us on a pretty big cliffhanger during ‘Scream 6’.’’
Another movie coming to 2026 is “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping”. The movie will mainly focus on the character Haymitch and his life during the 50th Hunger Games, twenty-four years before the first film.
“Those books were the first books that really got me into reading,’’ Maurer said.
‘’XOXO Kitty’’ season three will be arriving in 2026. It is a story after the events in the movies “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” which are based off the books with the same title. “XOXO Kitty’’ tells the story of Laura Jean’s sister Kitty and her life in Seoul to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend. K-pop band, “Stray Kids”, recently announced the release of another album for their listeners in 2026.
“Their music is really different compared to a lot of other k-pop groups.,” Schmitt said. “They have a very interesting fan base because there are a lot of people in the fan base that are super nice and super sweet.’’
