The park is a great place to do lots of activities. These activities are some common ones that students enjoy doing at the park.

Take Pictures
Taking pictures in parks is something that is very common, especially around different holidays, and during school dances. Parks have a natural beauty that makes a great background. Taking pictures in the park can boost creativity, foster a deep connection between people and nature, and provide aesthetic pictures for Instagram posts.
Play Sports
Sports is one thing that can bring people together with family, friends, and sometimes strangers. Sports can be competitive, or just for fun. Playing sports can lower blood pressure, improve health, and help prevent diseases, while giving a fun way to practice and hang out with friends.
“A lot of my friends and I are on the basketball team here at North. So we just go to the park to practice and have fun,” junior Trace Hunter said.

Go for a Walk
Walking in a park is one of the most popular activities to do, and it’s a break from social media. It’s also just a way to enjoy the weather. Walking can also be a significant stress reliever, and boost mental and physical health.
“People should go to parks more, because it’s something you can do instead of sitting on your phone,” freshman Brynn Morning said. “It also just gives you time to think, and just relax and enjoy the nice weather.”

Ride a Bike
Biking is something a lot of people do at one point in their life. During summertime you see kids biking with their friends, adults biking just for fun, and usually people do it at a park. Biking can help improve muscle strength, cardiovascular endurance, increase joint mobility and give people something to do.
“Biking is a good way to get outside and hangout with friends. It is also a good way to strengthen your muscles, and it’s an easy workout,” freshman Brooklyn Woods said.

Play on the Playground
Playing on the playground is a favorite for many kids. Kids and teens gravitate towards playgrounds at parks because they might have different elements at that playground that other activities may not. Playgrounds can help develop physical strength and hand-eye coordination. It can also help kids and adults just to focus on having fun.
