Students shared their favorite songs for the summer. Here’s a look at the tracks that make their summer.
“Your Love is My Drug by Kesha, because it’s fun to listen to, especially because I like walking,” freshmen Maggie Gibson said. “It’s fun to just skip around like a maniac outside and pretend no one would see me.”
“Definitely Boom Clap by Charli XCX because it reminds me of childhood and playing outside with water balloons,” sophomore Caliyah Brown said.
“Socks and Sandals by Dutch Criminal Record,” freshmen Daniel Riggs said. “I feel like it really encapsulates summer [with] the rhythm, the melody, and the lyrics, [they] fit really well with summer.”
“My favorite song is Passion fruit by Drake,” sophomore Ben Hughes said. “It just puts me in a good, happy mood. This song makes me feel like it’s summer.”
“Sweet Ever After by Ellie Holcomb,” senior Kiley Harris said. “…I like that the melody is really upbeat, and there’s just some fun instruments in there, and the lyrics hit really good.”
“My favorite song is probably Amber by 311,” junior Kasey Lewis said. “And I really like that song because it’s just really positive and it has a good beat, and it just kind of brings out positive energy.”
