As the weather warms up, sweet and cold treats are making a seasonal comeback. From ice cream to frozen fruit, people are enjoying sweet treats and this sunny weather combined. For many, these snacks are not just a way to cool off, but part of the experience of time spent outside and warmer days.
“I like Bahama Bucks a lot,” freshman Lexie Walraven said.
Cold treat places like Bahama Bucks help people embrace the change in seasons, and turn simple outings into moments where the best memories can be made with friends and family.
“Frozen sour grapes are so good in summer,” freshman Isabelle Wardle said.
Simple, homemade treats like frozen sour grapes are a popular option for people who want to stay home and still have a cool treat. Some may say that making treats like this also adds to the experience, creating small special memories that can last for a long time.
“I like a lot of summer things, but I think my favorite is probably the cotton candy blizzard from Dairy Queen,” freshman Violet Valleory said.
While everyone has different favorites, these treats all serve a similar purpose. Whether these treats are homemade or store bought, cold treats give a simple way to enjoy the warmer weather. They also bring a feel of tradition, as many people return to the same snacks year after year. As temperatures continue to rise, these seasonal traditions remain a very important part of the summer and the memories that come with it.
“Ice cream is my favorite treat ever,” freshman Eleanor Voth said.
